Larnaca Town
Larnaca City Central is one of the most popular coastal resorts in Cyprus. It is also home to Cyprus' second busiest port as well as the island's International Airport. Larnaca is a modern cultural town that has pure Cypriot charm.
The motorways linking Paphos and the Famagusta towns including Nicosia the Capital all intersect on the outskirts of the town.
The town's attractive waterfront hosts numerous concerts, exhibitions and cultural events and its Marina attracts yachts from all over the world.
One of the most pleasant entertainment areas, The Finnikoudes is a beautiful avenue stretching the length of a sandy beach on the popular seafront of the city accommodating some of the best hotels, cafes, pubs, clubs and restaurants in town. The area is busy day and night, summer, winter, springtime and fall, activity is a non-stop procedure.
Another one of Larnaca's attractions this year has been the thousands of flamingos which have visited the Island, here they will rest up and feed for the winter.
According to the most recent bird count that took place, 12,500 flamingos have settled at Larnaca Salt Lake a Birdlife Cyprus press release says.
It further calls on people who have also been visiting the salt lakes to admire the protected species not to try and approach them, nor to fly drones or other aerial vehicles above them as such actions disturb them.
