Paphos Town. This is the most famous city in Cyprus. It owes its fame to the Goddess Aphrodite who, according to legend, was born in the foam of the waves on the city’s seashores. In the Roman period, Paphos was the capital of the island and its historic port was one of the most important transhipment centres of the Roman Empire. Today the city of Paphos includes Ktima and Kato Paphos. It is a modern city with all amenities, and imposing public buildings. It is 77kms from Limassol.
